Button Wizard

The Button Wizard is a plugin, available from the Tools menu.  It aids in quickly generating customized JPEG button images.

The evaluation version of Spider Writer only contains several button and bullet templates.  When you register Spider Writer, you are given a link from which you can download the entire set of templates for the Button Wizard.

Button Wizard Description

In the wizard's first step, Button Wizard Description, you pick whether you want to create a button or a bullet. Buttons can have text captions placed over them while bullets are small and can have no captions. When you press Next, you are taken to the Template Selection step.

Template Selection

The Template Selection step allows you to choose the look and feel of your button or bullet. To select a template, first highlight the group of buttons you'd like in the Group listbox. Then select a button or bullet from the Template listbox.  A sample of your button or bullet appears in the Preview window.  If you are creating a button, pressing the Next button takes you to the Button Captions step.  Otherwise, you are taken to the Wizard Complete step.

Button Captions and Button Font Style

In the Button Captions step, you select how many lines your button caption is, the text alignment (left, center, or right), and enter the text for the captions.  Pressing the Next button takes you to the Button Font Style step where you specify the font face, size, and style to use for the captions.  The Next button goes to the final step, Wizard Complete.

Wizard Complete

The Wizard Complete step asks you what you want to do with your button or bullet.  There are three options:

The first option, saves the button as a JPEG in a file you designate once you press the Finish button.  It also inserts an IMG tag to the button or bullet you save.  The second option simply saves the button or bullet as in option one except it doesn't insert an IMG tag.   The final option copies the button to the clipboard so you can paste it into another image editing application.  Press the Finish button to carry out the action you specify.
